LONG SHOT tells the story of Palo Alto High School's unlikely journey as an underdog to win the California State Basketball Championship in 2006. Peter Diepenbrock coached a team led by six seniors, including Steven Brown, Kevin Trimble, Kheaton Scott, Cooper Miller, Brad Lehman, and Jeremy Lin — the first Asian American to win an NBA Championship. The film includes interviews with Lin, head coach Peter Diepenbrock, opposing players and coaches, and local writers.
Named First Place in the United States by the National Scholastic Press Association for Broadcast Sports Story of the Year, as well as First Place in the state of California and Second Place in the United States for Video Sports Story by the National Federation of Press Women
